“The future for me is good. My situation before seeing you was that I felt anxious and a bit lost. I had a few family problems that affected me.

The sessions helped me focus on the positive more and not sweat the small stuff. It made me think about how I take on too much of what I think is negative thoughts even though it’s not that bad at times. I over think .

“I am now able to sleep. I went see Mel to help me with my phobia of snakes, worrying and trouble sleeping. 

Mel taught me really good relaxation techniques to help calm me, think differently about things that worry me and also to help me sleep better. She also taught me relaxing methods and to think differently about my phobia so that I don’t feel so scared and worried about it.

Mel was an absolutely pleasure and made me feel very at ease. I am now able to sleep and do not feel anxious and worried anymore.”

Well not only can I listen to Mel for hours as she makes me feel so relaxed, I can tell her exactly how I feel without feeling judged…

Lockdown was definitely where I struggled the most,with 5 months of waking up to the same 4 walls every morning. Didn’t leave the house, to the point where I didn’t want to speak to anyone and just wanted to hide away. Then came along the overthinking, taking all the bad from everything situation.

Then thankfully came along Mel… Mel helped me to clear my head and how to get myself out of situations with thinking more positively, honestly couldn’t recommend Mel more!”

“I heard about Melanie and Solution Focused Hypnotherapy from my mum’s friend.

Prior to my sessions, I had been suffering from anxiety for two years. As much as in a majority of ways I was feeling better, I still had two big stumbling blocks, I would feel uncomfortable in large gatherings and I suffered anxiety attacks about driving on motorways and long distance. It was causing me huge difficulties with my work and social life.

Solution Focused Therapy helped me develop a healthier sleeping pattern, a more relaxed outlook on life, confidence in driving again and generally just feelIng like my old self!

Melanie explained each step thoroughly. She made the whole process easy and comfortable for me.  Each session made me feel like another weight had been lifted.

Before I attended these sessions I was struggling quite badly with my anxiety and over thinking every situation. I was constantly on edge or worried about situations which in reality I didn’t need to worry about. I also thought the worst about everything and was quote a negative person. 

Solution focused hypnotherapy has helped me in many ways (too many to describe in fact) Mel taught me to not over think every situation and helped me learn why I was always thinking negatively and how to avoid it. I now think positively about situations and I now know how to tell myself that I am thinking bad thoughts and there is no need to. It has also helped me not worry and think the worst about certain situations, with the help from Mel I am now very positive and really have taken a different path to being a better person.

Mel you are amazing, and so calming. So easy to talk to and I know whatever I say you will not be opinionated. I couldn’t recommend you enough!

I’m so positive and more HAPPY. I now have started to not take things for granted. My anxiety and stress has almost come to a halt and if I was to have a slip up what I learnt from Mel will forever help me

“The thought of giving up smoking when i didn’t really want to scared me!  My head knew i should give up, but my heart didn’t agree.

Smoking has been part of my daily routine for twenty years & something that i relied on to help me with stress. It was my 10 minutes of me time! 

What a time to do it in lockdown!!!!  When I’m super stressed & need those 10 minute breaks from the kids. I must be crazy??? 

After discussing my decision with Mel I knew trying trance was the right thing to do, Id tried everything else & nothing seemed to work. (Although still in my head I’m still thinking how much I want a cigarette once the session is over!). Our session took place over zoom & was very professional. 

Mel is lovely, so friendly & made me feel very relaxed. She explained everything to me prior to the trance, I was so relaxed i think i even snored at one point!

I can now say how proud of myself I am & so grateful to Mel.I do not smoke, my life is now richer in so many ways & hopefully will be a longer life!  I’m now in control of my life rather than being controlled by the cigarettes.

I still reach for that phantom lighter that’s not in my pocket, but I smile & it reminds me of how far I’ve come & the right choices that can be made & achieved.”

“Thank you for your time over the past few weeks. You have opened my eyes to a new way of thinking that makes sense to me. Having an understanding of the mind has helped me realise that I can improve my learnt habits by switching to a new way of looking at things. For anyone thinking about Solution based Hypnotherapy, I have written below my testimonial.

Mel is a very personable individual that I found relaxed me from the start. I was able to put my trust in her and open up to how I was truthfully feeling. I found her approach very sincere and not at all condescending, which from years of severe anxiety, with many other approaches, I have found to be frustrating and not made any impact whatsoever.

Personally I have found it extremely difficult to find a solution to my GAD and depression and have like many others spent years researching for answers.

Mel opened my mind to this new way of understanding how my thoughts could trigger such debilitating, overwhelming feelings, in a way that I had not heard of before. How I benefited in a way that I hadn’t before,was that instead of her TELLING me, she was breaking down all the reasons why and explaining to me where and how these feelings come from and how by looking at new positive solutions along with a light REM hypnosis, I found I was feeling more able to flip over negative thought patterns into more positive solutions, without losing the reality of any given situation. I found the hypnosis to be extremely relaxing so much so that I could’ve fallen asleep. I was quite anxious at first about losing control and panicked a little about having the hypnosis, however Mel explained that it is just like falling into a light sleep without losing your control.

I would recommend Mel and her approach to Solution based hypnosis to anyone wanting to start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Although we are now in week 5 of Lockdown, I have found better choices of how to make my world a little bigger each day and feel freer within myself and calmer than I have for years.

I was put on medication for anxiety a few months before my hypnotherapy session started. I have also been going to a counsellor for many years and on medication for depression.  Although in myself I felt I now no longer required counselling, overtime my anxiety has started to creep back and it was my jaw and face that was suffering in pain.

I found SFH very relaxing and once my session had finished for a long time after very calming and i noticed this pretty much after my first session. I had found something that had worked for me. I wasn’t able to remember the parts of the brain from the detailed diagram and key words but i knew what the diagrams was telling me, very interesting and amazing how the brain works.

Working with Melanie was like a breath of fresh air, Mel has a very calming and understanding nature and was able to help me in finding my solution for myself. She’s driven and believed in helping me i felt de-clutter my head and i know for sure will help many others. Thank you Mel.

My future is looking bright and healthy. I feel great. If i ever feel myself heading towards a downward time i can listen to my tape provided my Mel and take a moment to remember the tools i have been given. I can work on this myself which is far more rewarding,  no more going to my counsellor and bringing up my past which only upsets me, SFH makes me feel calm, relaxed and puts me in such a positive state of mind. Its actually quite remarkable and would recommend to all.

For months I was struggling with OCD. I didn’t know what it was at the time but I knew what I was feeling/doing wasn’t normal. I was constantly checking things multiple times in the day, if I’ve turned off the oven, if I shut the front door and other things. When leaving my house I would have to drive back to check the door is shut. I would convince myself I am not checking properly and I would question if I really did check or if I just imagined. This then made me not want to leave the house to avoid panicking about the front door, the ovens etc. My dad booked me an appointment with Mel because I was willing to do anything to help. The first session Mel was teaching me parts of the brain, this helped me understand why I did the things I did and helped me recognise when my stress bucket is full! I leave every session feeling good in myself and I can feel I am overcoming this problem. The sessions are so positive and I am always asked at the start ‘what’s been good this week’. Mel has helped me in so many ways especially with my mind set and my OCD habits. It has been months since I’ve had to drive home to check my front door is shut. I now know how to keep my OCD habits under control and what to do if I feel them coming back, thanks to Mel xx

Having been suffering with chronic insomnia for 2 years I was willing to give any treatment a go! I will admit, I was pretty sceptical about things like hypnosis, but at my initial consultation Melanie made me feel very much at ease, and said a lot of things that made a lot of sense! By the end of the session I knew I wanted to continue. I’m currently sleeping very well and have stopped my sessions with Melanie as she’s provided me with the knowledge and tools to hopefully deal with this going forward. I’m also happy in the knowledge that if I need a refresher I can just revisit and again receive the calming and knowledgeable treatment that Melanie provides. A happy, sleeping customer.

I decided to try positive solution therapy with Mel after struggling to cope with some family issues and life generally feeling out of control . Mel really couldn’t have done better ! I found the sessions with her so helpful , the methods of how to take control and deal with situations , the relaxation time and her tracking my progress with updates at the end of every session , and even when I felt that I maybe hadn’t coped so well one week I would find that the strategies we had talked about i would just pop into my head and really help me deal with certain situations. It was so helpful I decided to sent my teenage daughter for some sessions with Mel and the difference in her confidence and dealing with anxiety issues is amazing .
